People in the LGBT+ community are more likely to have poor mental health and wellbeing. We are reaching out to all those in need of help and striving to celebrate our differences, welcome and accept all.
Following our humanistic approach, we believe that genders, sexualities and cultural backgrounds shouldn't change the support that is given. Every individual, including you and I, have unique traits, skills, expressions and needs. We believe that recognising, accepting and celebrating these differences is a key part of any individual's journey to becoming a successful, independent person.
We made a few new friends over in Belper this year, despite getting caught in the rain! Huge thanks to everyone who had a part in making this happen - the home baked goods were lovely <3
Fun Fact: "Neurodivergent individuals, particularly those diagnosed with Autism, are significantly more likely to identify as LGBT+ than those who are neurotypical. The Office of National Statistics suggests that around 3% of the UK population identifies as lesbian, gay or bisexual (though this is likely to be an under-representation), while between 15-20% of the population is neurodivergent in some way."
Belper was the first stop. Next it's Derby!
The next event we will be attending is:
Derby Pride
09/09/2023
Markeaton Park
Looking forward to seeing you there!
